John....Enoggera Dam is a known spot for Painted Button-Quail but I haven't
heard of BBBQ there. Did you get good views of any females with the
distinctive black head and neck? The habitat certainly looks good for BBBQ
with lots of lantana about so I don't think it's that surprising. Maybe the
burnt section is making them easier to observe.

Hi all, Just a quick post for anyone interested in black-breasted
button-quail. I got a spectacular look at a small group of them this morning
at the ennogera dam. They were scratching around on the other side of the
dam in some burnt out scrubby eucalypt country. Happy birding.......John
