Details of the previous Malabar GP here: http://bioacoustics.cse.unsw.edu.au/birding-aus/2006-06/msg00279.html Sadly she died in captivity after about a year - keeping her alive at all was a real credit to the WIRES people. At the time WIRES organized a search for other Ground Parrots in the area. I believe Chris Lloyd told me volunteers heard a couple of possible calls but they couldn't be certain. It does seem likely that the 2006 Malabar bird came from a population which we don't know about - so to go back to a recent topic, the current status of Ground Parrots in NSW between Barren Grounds and Yuraygir is an area where amateurs could readily provide useful data.
