Hello Barbara,

The Pied heron at Bega is certainly a long way from home.

i checked both atlasses and apart from on breding record nea Walgatt (i guesS) there were no more sightings in NSW during either atlas. Of the field guides only Pizzey sugests finding them in NSW. he has a small shaded areas near your area.

i am rather surprised that your sighting has not caused any interest.
