Went for a drive to Carcoar Dam today to catch up on the bird life. It was a warm, still & fine day with the temp between 15-18 on the trip. I must have picked the wrong day as there was very little to be seen. Not even the usual sightings of Magpies and Butcher Birds. There is usually a couple of raptors (not sure what they are as yet) that hang around the windfarm near the dam but they were not to be sighted. Very little life on the dam with no swans or less common ducks. The water level is very low with the dam at about 7% capacity at present. In all a very disappointing drive.
