Dear All,
Below is the reply I have received from the ABC to my email about the
possibility of a re-broadcast of Australia : Land of Parrots. It is a
case of bad luck for NSW as there is no planned re-broadcast at
present in the state. Looks like the Victorians are the only lucky
ones at the moment.
Cheers,
Carl Clifford

Hi Carl,
Thank you so much for your email. As you might now be aware, the
ABC experienced a significant equipment failure on Sunday evening,
causing a reduction in audio quality and in some instances, the
total loss of the ABC TV broadcast during Australia: Land of
Parrots. On behalf of the ABC I apologise for any inconvenience
caused by this transmission failure.
The ABC does have the rights to rebroadcast Australia: Land of
Parrots although there is no date as yet in NSW scheduled to repeat
the program. To stay up-to-date or for for further information
about upcoming programs on the ABC please visit the following site - http://abc.net.au/tv/guide/
.
As you correctly pointed out, this program received great feedback
from ABC viewers and as a result, will be available for purchase on
DVD from ABC Shops and ABC Centres from approximately June 2008.
Once again, I apologise for the loss of transmission during this
program.
Yours sincerely,
Kris Harrison

Comments: Dear Sirs,
Firstly on behalf of the Australian bird-watching community, I would
like to thank you for broadcasting this superb documentary.
Unfortunately my viewing of it was marred by a lck of sound in the
first part of the program. This problem was also experienced by
viewers in a fairly diverse geographic range. I am on the NSW
Central Coast and I have had reports from fellow bird watchers of
the same problem in the Newcastle area, the NSW Illawarra region and
the QLD Sunshine Coast. I have also had reports of the broadcast
"freezing" from the section on the Crimson Rosella (about the last
15 minutes) from people in SW Victoria and parts of Melbourne. There
is a lot of on-going chatter on the local bird-watching newsgroups
this morning about the program, unfortunately most of it is gripes
about the reception problems.
I, and the rest of the Australian Birwatchers would be most grateful
if you could see fit to broadcast this superb program again. Who
knows! it may even boost sales of the program's DVD.
Best Regards,
Carl Clifford
