Hi Belinda,I am always amazed at the sounds that emanate from Spangled Drongos. I have also heard them mimic the calls of the Pied Butcherbird. There is one call that most/all Spangled Drongos make and I am not sure whether it is an imitation or just coincidence that it sounds like another species' call. The call that I am referring to is the Brown Goshawk chatter. When I hear a Spangled Drongo I sometimes immediately think 'Brown Goshawk' then when I hear the other rasping calls I realise that it is a drongo. Has anyone else heard this call? Greg Clancy |
