And the birding is similairly quiet in the woodlands around Bendigo at the
moment. Local Bob Cook and myself birded the(northern) Whipstick and
Kamarooka Sections of the Greater Bendigo NP on Sunday, and
the(southern)One-Tree Hill and Mandurang Sections on Monday. Very dry and
hot, little about, but we did manage five honeyeaters
(Fuscous,Yellow-faced,Yellow-tufted,White-eared,White-plumed), Varied
Sitella, Crested Bellbird, Red-capped & Scarlet Robin, and thornbills(Brown,
Weebill, Buff-rumped,Striated).
Monday finished with a "feral tick" of Tree Sparrow in the Bendigo CBD, a
bird which has previously eluded me in Vic (God knows how!!)
