>From http://www.agric.wa.gov.au/content/pw/vp/bird/housecrow.htm: "In India the House Crow raids crops such as wheat and maize and can cause severe damage to fruit in orchards. The bird competes with local bird species in India and Africa by attacking the adults and destroying their nests and eating their eggs. Like other birds introduced from overseas the crow is also a potential carrier of infectious diseases which could decimate domestic and native bird populations. Similar crop damage may occur in Western Australia if the House Crow becomes established here. Native and domestic bird populations may also be adversely affected by the crow's competition and diseases." I think at least some of the field guides warn that you should report this species if seen.
