Sorry for not giving the right location - the Canada Geese are at
Killalea State Park, not Killalee, in Shell Harbour (or Shell Cove,
depending on what you read), which is about 2 hours south of Sydney,
depending on traffic, and how lost you get trying to get there. My
advice is to follow the signs to Killalea SP, not what your GPS says is
the right way to go. Stop at the first carpark on the left where there
are toilets and some picnic tables, and down below you there's a big
lake/lagoon at the bottom of a steep hill. Yesterday the Geese were on
the north-eastern side of the lagoon stooging around near the reeds,
before eventually swimming west and crossing open water. They were quite
wary and started swimming away from us as we came down the hill.
The Little Eagle was over the bush on your left as you go down to the
lake, and the Musk Ducks were on the eastern side of the lake/lagoon.
Lots of coots, grebes and swans as well. Nice place.
Cheers
Troy
