There are many bird lists around.

The recognised list is that of Christidis and Boles, 1st Ed (C&B1). Birds
Australia follow this list, so for example does COG. This list can be found
on the Australian Museum website at:

http://www.amonline.net.au/birds/stuff/bird_list.htm .

But C&B recently put out a 2nd Ed (C&B2 for short). It is likely that in
due course this list will become the official Australian list (when it gets
endorsed by Birds Australia). I know of at least 2 people who have put the
new C&B2 list on their website, namely Bill Jolly and Frank O'Connor. The
latter also includes a list of birds for each Australian State and
Territory, plus some of her offshore territories (these lists are still a
work in progress). See:

for Frank - http://birdingwa.iinet.net.au:80/ and

for Bill - http://www.abberton.org/lists.htm .

Although it is not on his website, Bill Jolly has also compiled a very
useful summary of the changes between C&B1 and C&B2 (most of which has been
include in emails sent to the BirdingAus chatline on 24/1 and 1/2.
