I don't know of an electronic list but there's a good book which lists most alternative names of Australian birds:

J.D.Macdonald "The Illustrated Dictionary of Australian Birds by Common Name" (Reed). My copy is dated 1987 - don't know if there's a more recent edition.

Lists some pretty obscure names!

Cheers,

Carol

Does anyone have an electronic list of the various common names for each
species in Aus.

I was talking to a colleague from Qld about birds yesterday and today, and
it was as though we were speaking different languages when we named birds. I
think he may have been using older names, but he also thnks there are
regional differences.

Any good lists?

Thanks
