We have had 272 mls in the last 24 hrs here at Kingfisher Park and Bushy Creek is now a "river". The orchard is under at least 120 mms of water. One group of nestlings is still in their mound but I think it will only be a few days until they fledge as its now 31 days since the chicks started calling. The average period to fledging is 28 days (in a article by Sarah Legge) but the last group to fledge were 35 days in the nest. This is a week longer than the study indicated. >From the wet north, Jan ==============================www.birding-aus.org birding-aus.blogspot.com To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message: unsubscribe (in the body of the message, with no Subject line) to: ============================= |
