Hi all
1 in October 2002 at Shoalhaven Heads, 2 in December 2007 at Ulladulla
and now 4 in March 2008 4 at Killalea SP.
This is a range of about 80 to 180 Km south of Sydney.
The birds were on the southern side of the lagoon accessed from the main
car parks or the surfing car parks. They were quite shy behaving
similarly to the Black Swans in swimming quietly out into the lagoon as
I approached. They were in the company of the long time, 5 + years,
resident Greylag Goose which may have attracted them down.
ORAC submission being prepared.
I think I read some where that there are 2 sub-species which are
different in the amount of white going up the side of the face so can
any one confirm this and if so what is the sub-species in NZ.
Cheers Chris
