Hi birders, I was at Shoalhaven Heads this morning, looking at the waders on a beautiful sunny morning. There was a large group of bar-tailed godwit, but I also saw what I think may be black-tailed godwit as well. I'm hoping that someone can help me confirm this as waders always confuse me a bit. This bird had a definite pink base to the bill, with a black tip, while the other birds had a duller greyish base to the bill. According to my Pizzey and Knight, this would make it the black-tailed. Anyone able to help me out? Thanks, Tracey Newcombe Tomerong NSW ==============================www.birding-aus.org birding-aus.blogspot.com To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message: unsubscribe (in the body of the message, with no Subject line) to: ============================= |
