We saw the (unless there are 2!) bird at 11:30am yesterday (Sunday Feb 24). In Timbrell Park, at the western end, very close to the corner of Ramsay St. and Dobroyd Pde. (in fact Julie spotted the bird's head while we were driving down Ramsay St. at 80kph). It was simply standing in the middle of the grassed area near the canal. I was not able to make an assessment of its injured leg as the bird did not move while I was there, even though I was quite close. It was standing on both legs though, and both legs were straight.
