No, because it has never been a captive bird. You wouldn't have classified the Riflebirds at the Paluma Tea House as ferals now would you?

Perhaps the twitchers could cadge a feather for DNA analysis while hand-feeding it.

On the subject of BARC submissions, does BARC ever consult international ornithologists who frequently see the species in question [ie for whom the species, in its various forms, is a common bird]?
