If people are interested, Vicroads are investigating a new
outer-metropolitan ring-road in Melbourne. One end of the road will be on
the Hume Highway, north of Mickleham. From there the road will tend
south-west through Sunbury (or just to the south of Sunbury) until it
eventually meets the Princes Freeway south-west of Werribee. There was an

It is still very much in the study phase – no plans to acquire land yet.
What drew my attention to this more than anything else is that the extreme
south-western part of the road is likely to cut through Bulbans Road,
Werribee – at almost the exact location that the Little Curlew is currently
residing. I’m not sure if the Little Curlew visits annually, or if this is
its first visit.
