G'day AllThe Island Thrush exhibits more than a variation in plumage. It also varies in choice of habitat. In Samoa & Fiji it lives close to sea level, whereas on New Guinea it occupies only heights above 2,200m (usually higher). Whether it has choice in this or where it is competitive exclusion forcing the issue, the bird is able to cope with very hot moist climate as well as very cold climate. Something someone might want to study.
