There are lateral and dorsal views of the Australian specimen alongside a White-necked Petrel in Emu 2001, 101, p.126. Hadoram Shirihai has recently photographed Vanuatu Petrel at sea but these are not yet available. So the species is extant.

Tom, I'm more interested in photos of the Vanuatu Petrel.
Are there any anywhere by anyone?
Or even some which might show possible Vanuatu Petrel.
With annotation, of course so we mere mortals (as opposed to the higher order beings such as pelagic tragics) can see what all the fuss is about.

Thanks for the heads up, though.
