From the BBO you can indeed cover a vast area, including the lakes on
Roebuck Plains. The Wardens offer trips to here in 4WD's. HOWEVER, this is February you are going - I'm not sure if it won't be too wet..??!! Talk to the wardens now, by phone, and get an idea. That area is , for me at least, one of my favourite TOP places. You'll get Long-tailed Finches and Great Bowerbirds at the BBO itself :-) And, the waders. of cource........!!!!

Derby has a wetland/sewerage works which is supposed to be good.
Your other bird wishes:- you'll need to go further into the Kimberley, i.e. Mornington Station, run by the A.W.C. But, at that time of year??? Might not be open for visitors yet, and you could have problems getting in.
