Greetings,
After a slow start to the year I put in a bit of effort on the second. With friends, David and Margaret Merrall, wet on a five hour twitch on the central Atherton Tablelands. We recorded 106 species in that time and eating out of doors later recorded another 7 species.

Birds of note were the superb Fruit-Dove at the Curtain fig. This bird is feeding there each morning and afternoon, 15 metres from the boardwalk away from the road at the walks far side. Two Brolgas were seen flying over Nardello's Lagoon. Brown-backed Honeyeaters seem to have taken up residence at Black Gully Tinaroo this season and there was a Large-billed Gerrygone there too.

Regards,
Alan Gillanders
