The Birds WA website ( http://birdswa.com.au/ ) has a section containing bird
guides for many places around the state, including Margaret River. There is a
guide with brief notes on various sites near Margaret River and another with a
bird list for the area. Red-winged Fairy-wrens are fairly common in the
Margaret River area. Most of my birding in that general area has been centred
around Augusta and my notes are very average, so I'm not 100% sure on specific
sites for them, but any area with a reasonable amount of bush is a good chance,
particularly along streams. The first three sites mentioned in the Birds WA
brochure (A. Rotary Park and the Old Settlement, B. Gracetown, Cowaramup Bay
and C. Ellenbrook Homestead) look like a good chance for Red-wings.
Hopefully that's of use
Cheers
