A party of 16 birders led by Peter Barrand have just left Cocos (were there 4 days) for Christmas Island. They saw 2 male and 1 female Asian Koel on Home Island that had been there two months. Also 2 white and 1 'brown' egret suspected as being Western Reef Egrets, a Dollarbird, Yellow Wagtail and a Black-winged Stilt. They're visit to South Island in search of Saunders's Tern was unsuccessful possibly due to an exceptionally high tide which left no beach or sandbars for loafing birds.
