Today at 7 am I flushed a little bittern at Walka Waterworks.
  Walka . Walka waterworks is  a reserve in Maitland. To find it if you get to 
the Court house,  and the traffic lights there, the next turn to the right 
coming from the south will  direct you to WWW. The Little Bittern was on the 
little island along the wall  in   the north of Walka Waterworks, it flushed 
then flew across the lagoon into the reeds below  the last willow on the left , 
it did its Bittern stance for  at least 2 minutes then it crept into the reeds 
there. It was a male bird.  lorna Mee
