Hi Folks,

Beautiful morning at the spit (ALBEIT FEW BIRDS!):

Bar-TG 2

Crested Tern 4 (2 adult, 2 immature)

Common Tern 4 non-breeding (nb)

Little Tern 13 – 12 breeding, 1 non-breeding (unbanded). Of the 12,
breeding 10 were banded (8 also with coloured tags). They were displaying on
the ground and in the air. They have me confused – will they attempt to
breed or not? They’ve been largely absent for about a week. The Fairy Tern
has not reappeared.

Yesterday am I was down at Mason Park – it was very full and a nice surprise
was a Marsh Sandpiper amongst the stilts, 2 PGPlover and about 60 Sharpies –
no Pectoral yet.

Back to my study – exams start on Wednesday.

Cheers,

Graham Buchan
