Dear birders,

As it was taken at the zoo, it may not even be an
Australian Bird.

I see your listserv doesn't accept photos, so I'd be
glad to send to any individual on request.

The bird has a Gray bill and head, bill length shorter
than half of headlength, slightly decurved and looks
to be thicker in the upper mandible.
Dark eye-line curving downward towards the nape.
Contrasting dark gray neck band that blends into a
med.green back, chest and belly.
Brownish-orange flanks.
Short tail.
Orange/pink unfeathered legs.
Leg height is shorter than body height, giving the
bird a rounded shape.

Any thoughts as to family, country of origin or
specific species i.d. would be sincerely appreciated.
