Jennifer, a good place for advice etc is to talk to you local Environment
Defenders Office (EDO).
Here's the link to the one for New South Wales.
http://www.edo.org.au/edonsw/site/default.php
The Nature Conservation Council of NSW is another group worth contacting.
Their web site is as follow:
http://www.nccnsw.org.au/
Your local council may also have a Biodiversity Officer who can advise on
what environmental overlays exist in your area to protect significant
bushland remnants.
cheers, Martin O'Brien
