Hi,
I have just returned from Ulladulla, South coast NSW where I stayed for a
family holiday for 2 weeks.
Weather was for most part perfect for the beach!
Usual treats were the Sea-Eagle every day out the front of our unit on
Mollymook beach as well as the passing hump-backed Whales, Dolphins etc.
Highlights were:
Narrawallee NR: Glossy Black-Cockatoo, Red-browed Treecreeper
Comerong Island NR: 60+ Pacific Golden Plovers, White-headed Pigeon
Conjola NP: Wonga Pigeon, and close ups of White-bellied Sea-eagle from the
boat!
Conjola Mouth: Breeding Hooded Plovers
Near Milton: Channel Billed Cuckoo flying over head and then calling from
tree it landed in 50 metres away.
Pigeon House Mountain: 4 Superb Lyrebird.
Surfing Green Island
Diesel playing with 6 Guitars at the Milton Theatre!!
Disappointments were:
Little Forest Plateau (Little Forest walk – only a handful of birds, Porters
Creek Dam – zip, Mt. Bushwalker – only Dusky Woodswallows (but about 100 of
them)
The views were fantastic though…
Bush Tics – What’s the go with these things???? They are everywhere????
The 17 hour drive back to Adelaide.
Til next time.
