Hi Peter et. al.,
I too wear lenses and/or glasses. I use either with binoculars, and while I've noticed most of the problems you've identified with either, I far prefer the lenses for birding. My problem is that I have other visual problems, and so use glasses more often than lenses for other reasons. However, for straight birding, I find lenses preferable, and worth any of the inconveniences you note.
