I recall that one of the South African field guides is available as a
program for a Palm Pilot (or one of those hand held devices), so
clearly some people have recognised the need.
Would be good in some ways to have the guide on CD, but not very
practical in the field unless you have a hand held PC? I guess the
issue that the publishers would worry about could be piracy - very
easy to copy a CD compared to a book!
