I am very interested to see that the rufous owl has now been reported in
Busselton. By my calculations, this is at least 80 kilometres from Bridgetown
where the owl's last appearance has been well documented and photographed. Is
this sort of distance reasonable for these owls or do you think it is
desperately seeking Sheila/Bruce ?

Dear Sir or Madam, I thought you would be interested to know the Rufus Owl was
in my garden in Busselton about nine days ago, it was sitting on a post near my
back garden gate, it made no attempt to fly away as I went out the gate, I did
mention to a few friends about the encounter and that I did not know what type
of Owl it was. Seeing it again on the news tonight was lovely. I hope it spends
many happy years of freedo, Joan Graham. No virus found in this outgoing
