For those of you who don't consult the Murdoch Press, Greg Roberts has
written an account of Amy Flatt and the Bridgetown Rufous Owl in
today's Australian -

"When Ms Flatt posted news of her sighting on the internet chatline Birding-Aus it was widely disbelieved, until she produced photographs." I think a search of the archives will reveal that "widely" is a relative term.
