Regarding my posting of a few days ago, some ducks are back at Lithgow sewage ponds including at least 3 Blue-billeds, 2 Pink-eareds, many Shovelers, Hardheads, and Hoary-headed Grebes. Note that access is only allowed along the rubbish tip road, where you can get a good view of the 3 ponds with a scope.

Yesterday morning a beautiful male Flame Robin had arrived at the carpark at Evans Lookout. These mostly leave the higher altitudes for the winter, so hopefully it's back to breed at this site. Glossy Black-Cockatoos and Beautiful Firetails are at their usual places on Kings Tableland, and flocks of Noisy Friarbirds, Red Wattlebirds, Yellow-faced and White-naped Honeyeaters are moving through on their spring return migration.

Cheers,

Carol
