Hello Birding-aussers,For two visits running I have flushed Brush Bronzewings from a known location on Deep Creek, Narrabeen Lagoon on Sydney's Northern Beaches. On both occasions the male has only flown a few metres before perching, affording me great views of a very hansome bird. Today while watching the male bird I heard a repeated quiet growling coo call not far away in dense understory. I have never heard bronzewings make this call before but thought it might be the female. I am sure I don't have a bronzewing call like this on C D ot tape. It was a bit like a Crested Pigeon call but more guttural. Has anyone heard them make this call? Bruce.Bruce Cox on Sydney's Northern Beaches. =============================== www.birding-aus.org birding-aus.blogspot.comTo unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message: unsubscribe (in the body of the message, with no Subject line) to: =============================== |
