Hello, our group of birders is nearly at the end of our birding trip. We have a few days left to bird around Cairns. we are searching places for Little Kingfisher, Torresian Imperial Pigeon, Red-necked Crake, Barking Owl, Pallid Cuckoo, Little Lorrikeet. Are the Chillagoe Swiftlets worth the trip? Are they near their breeding caves this time of year? Any suggestions are welcome. Highlights till now are 3 species of rifflebirds, all frogmouths, Red Goshawk, all owls except Barking, Golden-shouldered Parrot, Ground Parrot, BBBQ and so much more. A trip report will follow soon.
