Hello bird lovers... Lorne here...

The new Pizzey & Knight looks terrific to me. The textual information
and maps have been updated, there are more or slightly changed
illustrations, vagrants are marked with a V as Simpson & Day's guides
have done before, the inside of the front cover has a key guide to all
featured species groups so you can easily find them in the book, and
most interestingly for me, there are many species painted for the first
time by Knight, including Norfolk Island Parakeet, the SIPO, Narcissus
flycatcher, Lord Howe Island woodhen, two white-eyes and a hawk-owl.

Surely this new edition is THE definitive guide to Australian birds and
an essential bible for the novice or twitcher because of its mass of
up-to-date, accurate information. If I had to choose between this book
and other guides on the market right now, I would go for the P&K without
reservation, even though I think Nicholas Day's the best bird
illustrator out there and I've always been a big fan of his guide.
