I have just seen my first Wood Sandpiper for the season at Mt Barnett Sewage ponds along the Gibb River Road, Kimberley, WA. The earliest last year was 6 August. I noticed a report of Wood Sandpipers in the far north of NT last week so they are obviously on the move. Also a Yellow-billed Spoonbill is at the ponds a bird I haven't recorded here before.
