Hi everyone,

Had the morning off work, and my new scope, so headed out to Magic
Point, Maroubra. Conditions were super calm at sea, with a gentle NW
breeze and relatively warm air temp. Highlight was a hawking Whistling
Kite being harassed by the resident ravens, and a Sooty Oystercatcher
among the rocks at the southern end of the beach on the way back. The
albatross were fairly distant, with a whole stack of little white dots
feeding and bobbing beyond identifiable range, but a few were in close
feeding. A pleasant way to ease into Thursday.

Here's the list.

Black-browed Albatross - 10

Yellow-nosed Albatross - 2

Whistling Kite - 1

Sooty Oystercatcher - 1

Eastern Reef Egret (Dark Morph) - 1

White-fronted Tern - 2

Aus. Gannet - 3

Golden-headed Cisticola - 1

Little Penguin - 1 (heard)

And the usual ravens, honeyeaters, fairy-wrens, gulls etc etc.

Cheers

Troy
