Five birders converged on this little patch beside Sheep Station Creek Sunday arvo. We found lots of mistletoe, but none flowrering or fruiting. We even heard Mistletoebird, but no Painted Honeyeater. We managed Spiny-cheeked, Striped, Lewin's, Yellow-faced, Brown and Scarlet H/E's but not what we were after. We had a good time interacting with a couple of locals who thought we were looking for koalas (do people really do that!!), and managed to intercept and safely return a 2 yr old boy in Spirderman pyjamas and day-pack who was heading-off into the bush on his own grand adventure ,with nary an adult in sight. (My how these Sunday arvo's can be dreary in outer surburbia) Russ Lamb, Maleny,SEQ ==============================www.birding-aus.org birding-aus.blogspot.com To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message: unsubscribe (in the body of the message, with no Subject line) to: ============================= |
