Hi Russ and all,
Visited this site early afternoon today (Sunday) and missed the Painted
Honeyeater but observed a couple of Spiny-cheeked Honeyeater- one
hanging around the yard on the corner of Oasis Ct and Serenity Way, and
the other down near the creek. Very vocal.
Also of local interest was a single Sanderling observed on Saturday
morning feeding on mudflats at low tide at Godwin Beach on the mainland
between Ningi and Bribie Island. Possibly the same bird photographed by
Bob Inglis and seen by others near Buckleys Hole on Bribie Island a
couple of months ago.
Cheers

Peter and others,
Tim Murphy was able to provide contact details for the
birder who saw the Painted Honeyeater.
Peter Boyd advises he and another birder saw a
single PH on 18/7, he hasn't been back to check since.Peter gives the following
site directions: About .75km along Caboolture River Rd (from commencement off
Morayfield Rd), turn left into Ben St, then into Amy St, then into Serenity
St.Go to end of Serenity St where small patch of bushland begins. Take walking
path, veer right, look for mistletoe.(Apparently this patch is at the back of a
new estate, as Serenity St isn't in my old UBD)
I'll be having a look this arvo.
