Edwin asked about recent reports of Barking Owls in the Capertee
Valley. There are at least four locations in the valley where they
get reported from time to time. The pair that everyone looks for
behind the Glen Alice church haven't been seen there since around
2000, as far as I know. That was around the time I heard that one of
the birds was hit by a car on the bridge. They're still regularly
reported from the Glen Davis area, but I don't know of a current
roost site, unfortunately.
Cheers,
Carol

I have not heard about the Capertee birds for a while (has anyone seen them
there recently?) and have heard them being recorded along the Putty Rd
(e.g.) at Howes Valley.
