I agree that we don't KNOW with certainty what is causing climate change, and adding countless tons on Carbon to the biosphere is probably one of the causes, but we should not forget that we have had ice ages in the past in a somewhat cyclic recurring pattern, and these ice ages have been interspersed with periods of higher temperatures and higher sea levels, and these underlying cycles could also be responsible for the phenomena we are now experiencing.

My concern is that politicians are seeing it as an opportunity for new taxation - carbon tax - which will make governments dependent on it over time and not solve the problem at all - a bit like the government dependency on taxes from tobacco products
