We are the Kiwi - U.S. birding couple coming to Australia for a flying visit to see rellies and squeeze in some birding. We will be in Adelaide for just a day early July and pick up a rental car at the airport at 9 a.m.. What suggestions for our one day? Onkaparinga wetlands? We will leave early the next morning to drive to Melbourne via the Adelaide Hills and a stop or two (not sure where specifically though would be good to access some good forest and birds) And then thought perhaps we could go via the lagoon (name escapes me) out of Mt Gambier. I used to live in Sth Australia in my pre-birding days, but it is all a little hazy now! Grateful for any pointers how to see birds in a short time!
