Soldiers Point and the adjacent Norah Head Lighthouse Reserve, about 150 km
N of Sydney near Toukley NSW are also good places to watch sea-birds. If the
wind is strong from the south, their is a viewing platform at the Merchant
Sailors World War11 Memorial at Norah Head where there is some protection
from the strong southerly winds, and you can watch the seabirds fly past and
around Norah head, otherwide go to Soldiers Point carpark at the northern
end when the wind has eased and you can set up your telescope, quite close
to your car. Best time is late afternoon when the sun is well behind you.
