Hi Keith,

I am glad that you use the site to get help and advice on birds but there are others who like to use the site to discuss issues related to birds that may not be of interest to everyone. I am not interested in every thread but I just use the 'delete' key to quickly remove the emails that I don't want to read.

In my opinion the effects of global warming and timber plantations on birds are very relevant to the aims of the website and if no one was interested there would not be any postings.

If you want to divert people's attention away from a particular thread pose an interesting and stimulating question. That usually works!!
