Hi All,
Mike Carter just called. The Red-legged Crake was seen this afternoon at the
Whim Creek pub around 2 to 2:30 WA time. Whim Creek is about halfway between
Port Headland and Karratha on the Pilbara coast. There are domestic flights
to both of these towns and then it is a 80 to 90 km drive to Whim Creek
along Hwy 1. Accommodation is scarce (and pricey e.g. $150 for a single
room) in the larger towns and apparently not available at Whim Creek.
Cheers,
Rohan Clarke
