Years ago, in the 80's, when I photographed birds on the nest, and
therefore searched for birds nests, I regularly found Striated
Thornbills building nests towards the end of June, in the Newcastle
region. Do not remember finding them in May though. Must be global
warming eh.

Hello everyone, I have Spotted and Stiated Pardalote and a Weebill nest
building in my yard at the moment, don't know whether that's early or
late but they don't normally nest at this time of the year around here.
