Thanks Mike

I agree with your arrival dates and I know that this year they were seen by
me and others at various locations on the peninsula well before 24/5.

The site we [Penboc] is surveying is Sages Cottage a private property on the
corner of Sages and Moorooduc Road. Whilst some of the robins have been
seen on this property most of the birds are in the adjoining paddocks
[another private property] on the southern and western boundaries. The
number I have given is a most likely on the low side as we have not entered
these paddocks and have probably only seen the closest robins. [You should
be able to see these paddocks from your place through your telescope !!]

I have seen flame robins on the cliff top overlooking Bass Strait at the
back of my place however of course cannot say if they have just landed from
Tasmania.

Regards
Val
PS I had emailed this yesterday however when I checked my sent box this morning I saw that in my haste I had tried to send it from my partners email alias thus it had not got through to birding-aus. You and Andrew have probably already received this email from David Reid - sorry !!
