Hi all,
I've been a bit surprised at the interest created by this topic as Oystercatchers can be seen here in the UK feeding on grass wherever they get the chance. Perhaps it's an opportunistic behaviour i.e if there's grass available they'll use it, is grass more unusual at or around coastal locations in Australia?

We occasionally get Oystrcatchers well inland and they will then be see in fields with cattle.

Regards, Andy Adcock.
