I saw the Black-tailed Gull again today (Tuesday 22nd) in Geraldton.

The bird (1st year winter plumage but with white belly) was at the Fisherman's Wharf on a pole. I unfortunately disturbed it, and it flew off towards the lighthouse at Point Moore. I drove around there and found it flying just off shore, and it finally settled down with a flock of Crested Terns. It flew from there back towards the Fisherman's Wharf.

If you are going there, then the Bel Gardens Caravan Park is almost right there.

I can't see any reason why it won't hang around for quite a while.
